RTC based intelligent automatic street light control using 89C51
Street Lights: Automatic Street light controlled using RTC is a mini project for the final year electronics students. This ECE project idea offers the facility to switch on and off the street lights, advertising hoardings and commercial sign boards. The main motive of this project is to avoid the electrical energy wastage on having these lights switched on even while they are not required. The project is based on AT89S8252 microcontroller circuit with built-in flash EPROM is used.

ECE PROJECT ABSTRACT:
This ECE mini project is used to automatically turn off the lighting on road such as advertising hoardings, commercial sign boards, and street lights when the public flow is nil. In practical usage, these lights are needed only between 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm and again between 4:30 am to 6:30 am. But, as there is no one to turn them on and off at odd timings, they are on for almost 12 hours a day, which is utter wastage of electrical energy. With this microcontroller based project, the manual operation of the lighting system is eliminated completely.
The AT89S8252 microcontroller based system turns the lights on only at pre-tuned timings and the battery incorporated makes sure that the system remains uninterrupted even during power failures.
