This project is used to design and implement a digital to analog converter with the help of VHDL AMS. With the Analog HDLs and behavioral libraries, it becomes easily to quickly design a block-level system model and each block can be decomposed logically and stimulated with increased levels of details. This approach can save a major part of time in the design cycle and help organizations meet their deadlines. The digital to analog converters alters the digital output signal to analog output signal with at least one associated high dynamic range frequency band.
The main aim of this converter is to model a top down mixed signal design flow, to fine tune the behavioral description and to help to interact between the signals and mainly to cut off the simulation time of a complex design that usually takes hours to simulate.
The converter uses VHDL AMS as mixed signal language to model the circuit and Cadence Analog Artist is used for schematic level implementation and corresponding simulations. The design development is freely available to the designers and an educational version of System Vision, a Mentor Graphics tool is chosen for the same.
