A communication between one vehicle to other vehicle(V2V) can be set up and low latency between inter vehicle communication can be developed using a communication protocol via application of ZigBee technology.

In order to understand this project clearly you must know about ZigBee technology and inter vehicle communication first. The process of collision system between the vehicles occur due to human mistakes, brake failure etc and prevention of such collision includes introduction of wireless technologies such as Zigbee. This technology helps in remote control, sensor applications suitable for radio environments and also helps a lot in traffic surveillance systems. This technology is based on IEEE standard 802.15.4. The Zigbee technology provides a reliability towards vehicle to vehicle contact and the Global Positioning System(GPS) is attached on many vehicles to determine the distance between vehicles using ultrasonic sensors where passage of ultrasonic signals occur.
A web interface is constructed using ZigBee technology where a central server receives all kinds of data from all vehicles and this interface warns the drivers of the appropriate vehicles. Low power ad-hoc network is the effective advantage of using this technology which guarantees a communication protocol between vehicles enhancing a strong vehicle to vehicle communication(V2V). An ultrasonic sensor, crystal oscillator, voltage regulator are the main components interfaced to a microcontroller chip AT89C51 where a pin and functional diagram is provided along this content.

The power supply provides appropriate power to the voltage regulator and ZigBee itself comprises of a 8 bit microcontroller with a transceiver of respective RAM and flash memory. These wireless technologies are also used in home automation control, building automation, vehicle management systems etc. The buzzer is most important signalling device which runs on piezoelectric effect where the dc voltage is applied between the electrodes of piezoelectric diaphragm and as a result mechanical distortion occurs.
